Oil, Gas, and Offshore Containers

When it comes to safety, security, and reliability of offshore storage and transport, offshore containers are the superior and logical choice. Though there are several reasons for this, useability, safety, and durability are among the top three. Offshore applications must utilize offshore containers in order to ensure business-as-usual.

Useability
Offshore containers are designed, manufactured, and tested in stringent conditions in order to ensure that they will be able to hold, carry, and store oil, gases, and other hazardous materials (also referred to as HAZMAT). These items are not only dangerous to the environment and to people, but are also very dear to the general public. Therefore, all offshore containers must be able to contain these commodities safely and securely, and must be built to ensure that the quality of the cargo does not change or become compromised in any way. Because of this, offshore containers have a high degree of useability and are an excellent choice for transporting and storing much more than gases and oil. Other uses for these containers have been seen in industries such as granaries and other food industries, as well as waste management programs.
Because the standards are so high when attaining certification, these containers can be used in any setting. Offshore settings are among the harshest environments, and if the containers are good enough to stand up on those sites, they can stand up anywhere else, internationally.

Safety
Safety is the number one priority for all offshore containers, and is addressed in every step of DNV certification. DNV 2.7-1 and EN 12079 are the gold standard in certification for offshore containers. With the approval and certification of offshore containers, it is a guarantee that these containers will withstand harsh and abusive conditions and will not break, thereby compromising the safety of the workers and the environment.

Durability
Carbon steel, carbon-manganese steel, and sturdy, thick aluminum alloys make offshore containers exceedingly durable and long-lasting. Standard containers are made with materials other than pure metals (such as woods and plastics), and therefore do not last as long, and are certainly not allowable for offshore containers. Many industries prefer the initial expenditure as an investment into offshore containers, because they do not have to be replaced as often as standard marine containers.
With standards so high, and superior quality materials and manufacturing, many companies that do not have offshore capabilities are switching to using offshore containers for their storage and transportation needs. These containers are much more useful as they are built to last and hold gas and oil materials. It is well worth the initial investment to produce a long-lived container that will be used for many years to come.
